About Us
Artraxion aims to create Inspiration at every opportunity
Experienced artists and web techies have come together with one objective. To serve the many talented and up and coming creatives out there in Witshire's Vales and villages or beyond who deserve to be seen and supported by a wider online public.
Our Story
For over sixty years, Artraxion's founder, Richard FA White has been actively involved in the art scene both in the UK and overseas. He has witnessed the growth in the number of talented creatives who are unable to showcase their work. This has become a major concern as he believes far too many owners of main galleries and elitist artist collectives charge extraordinary fees to join their list of 'chosen ones'. Many of the 'chosen ones' are loosely called abstract artists of questionable talent but with a standing derived by those who see profits from a business interest.
Richard states 'Of course there are many very talented artists and creatives who deserve a shining profile. However, my concerns are for and about the artists, who for whatever reason, are not given a fair chance to display their work or achieve income. Yes, there are many other online galleries successfully selling artworks but even they depend on criteria and interpretations of what is likely to sell as well as
preferences set by their curators. Artraxion is different by virtue of its freedom, personal support community spirit and lack of algorithms aimed at assisting creatives who paint, draw, print, or produce etchings, sculptures, glassware, embroidery or printed textiles.
In 2026, Richard decided enough was enough. We live in troubled times due to wars, unstable economies and rising prices. Many will point out that buying art is a luxury when they can't afford to keep themselves warm during winter. We understand this as well as the increasing frailties of growing numbers of the older, lonely and disabled people in our communities.
Richard and his colleagues have put their heads together so that Artraxion becomes an ideal opportunity to combat these hardships and create feel good factors by exhibiting work, no matter how old you are or at what level your creative talents are at.
